He Walked With Us
We walked the road with heavy hearts
The sorrow deep, the hope torn apart
Rumors rising with the sun
Was he the promised, chosen one
A stranger joined along the way
He asked the words we dared to say
Of dreams now dashed, of hopes once bright
Of an empty tomb in morning's light
We spoke of crosses, cruel and high
Of broken hearts, of wondering why
He listened, smiled, and softly said
Have you not heard the words he spread
He walked with us, though we were blind
He spoke the truth our hearts would find
Through broken bread, through Spirit's flame
We knew the Master's voice, his name
He walked with us — He walks again
The Scriptures burned with living breath
A love that triumphs over death
The Shepherd calls, the captive free
The Light that shines eternally
We heard the ancient promise ring
The songs the prophets used to sing
Our hearts caught fire, the veil was torn
In breaking bread, new life was born
He walked with us, though we were blind
He spoke the truth our hearts would find
Through broken bread, through Spirit's flame
We knew the Master's voice, his name
He walked with us — He walks again
No grave could hold, no tomb contain
The joy that rises in His name
Alive, he walks beside the road
To lift the hearts that bear the load
He walks with us, still to this day
In every heart that dares to pray
Through broken dreams and rising skies
The Risen One still opens eyes
He walks with us
He walks again
