I thought I was just passing through A guest inside the grand design But something in the structure moved When I moved—the pattern shifted with mine I thought I was just watching The universe unfold from far away But every step I've taken Has been woven into what I will become someday There's a God that isn't finished Still assembling in the dark And somehow I'm not extra Somehow I'm a working part Not a spectator, not a shadow Not a whisper passing by Something vast requires my living Something infinite needs what I supply Needed—I am needed here Not just held but built into The growing whole Needed—every choice I make Becomes a brick the cosmos takes And makes its own Needed—I am needed Needed—built into the whole
